almost exactly a year ago I decided to participate in the Dream Rocket projectthis 24"x24" piece titled "Coexist" is what I created for the project with the idea that it would be in the display at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Library in San Jose, California from January 1 to March 1 of this year
yesterday I got notice from the project coordinator that my piece has been selected to appear in three more shows!
I am stunned and excited
the three shows are:
Visions Gallery, Houlton, ME from Aug 1 to Sept 24, 2011
Tompkins Square Branch of NYC Public Library from Nov 1 to Dec 31, 2011
2012 National Art Educators Association Conference Exhibit in New York City from Mar 1 to 4, 2012
just amazing
the sun hat is completeand I'm real pleased with the way it looks
I took a picture of the inside too but there's no point showing it to you because it looks just like the outside -- heh
just need to find a bubble envelope so I can pack up a "squishy" to send off to Mr. Cute
(and to make a couple of dish scrubbies to put in there too since the "big dog" at my daughter's house demolished another one)

after I wrote yesterday's blog I decided that I did indeed want to turn the orientation of this pieceso I carefully removed the old bails and created a whole new one and reattached the chain
now I'm working on the graduated branched fringe
this may take a little while
yesterday afternoon the DH used some more of the stuff from the gardenhe picked rhubarb
and made a strawberry rhubarb pie
yummmmy
messy (I'm glad we put foil under the pie pan) but wonderful
Your Dream Rocket piece is terrific! Kudos on having it displayed at three places.
ReplyDeleteThere is not a good place to park near the King Library that's great for the sun avoidance factor--but I wish I'd gone anyway and seen it while it was there. I'm sitting here going, wait, it was here?! And I MISSED it??!
