retrieving the dining room table

the first of May we bought a number of plants for our garden

then we had over two weeks of rain, hail, snow and temperatures below freezing

needless to say, we didn't want to put those tender little babies out in that weather, so we would carry the tray out onto the patio in the sun every day and bring them back inside where they were hanging out on my dining room table for the night

yesterday, after seeing that we are forecast to have nights in the 40s for the next 10 days, we decided to go for it

they don't look like much right now, but if they all grow up we'll have lots of goodies

right now we have planted 12 tomatoes, 1 tomatilla, 2 bell peppers, 2 chili peppers, 4 eggplant, 2 acorn squash, 1 baby blue hubbard and 1 pumpkin

I've got more squash and some cucumbers still in little peat pots, but left the tray out on the patio last night

so I got the table back -- and right away it is covered with art projects!
the first of the beading done on the zebra bracelet

several different white beads and several different black ones, but it's only in the white ones that you can tell (at least in this picture) that they aren't all alike

another strip for the Christmas afghan is done

this makes 51 inches of strips complete -- only 9 inches more to go before I can start arranging and stitching it together

(that's 85%!)

sleeve ribbing on the Christmas sweater continues -- we're now at 39.268% complete

the DH decided to make a blueberry pie from some of the blueberries we had in the freezer

it tasted wonderful

so today there is laundry to do and more garden planting and a trip to the grocery store

time to get moving

Blueberry pie is one of my all-time favorite comfort foods.
