since I had been steadily stitching fronds onto the redwood branches I decided to take a picture to see how this is looking

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed -- unlike the aspen leaves that really show up and give the real impression of there being enough leaves on those trees, the redwood still looks -- well, bare

there will obviously be a lot more stitching

I picked up another spool of deep green with very subtle variations to do the next batch -- after I finish the layer I'm doing right now

seems this project will take a bit longer to finish than I thought it would
