Yesterday we decided the time had comeThis basket is the last of the assorted tomatoes. These were some of the oddest that we have ever grown. Even though the package of plants was all supposed to be the same variety, these definately are a motley group -- oh well, they have tasted pretty good!
So, after filling up the basket we pulled up the plants and put them in the compost pit and put all of the metal baskets in the storage shed
Of course there will be more plants to tend to in the next few weeks, but the beans, peppers and yellow squash are still blooming, so I'm not pulling them up yet!
Back in the studio, the work on the wizard continues.Here then is the "robe" I made for him. What you really can't see in the picture is that the bottom "pointy" end of each sleeve is seamed up a ways so he will have "wizard pockets"!
I have been as unable to obtain unicorn hair as I was phoenix feathers, so the wand is still up in the air --
Today I hope to do the changes to his face that I have planned and get him dressed so he can be mailed no later than Monday
work on the quilt block is progressing -- branches and legs complete -- now its on to the body of the bird
sleeve seams are done, today I'll be working on weaving in the many ends in the body of the sweater and setting in the sleeves
and the latest piece of jewelry should be done today -- the chain and the loop end of the toggle are complete, I just need to create the bar for the toggle and finish the bail on the stone
Yup, things are moving right along!!

Maybe you could send Elphie out to look for an appropriately sized stick with which to start. Or perhaps a bamboo skewer?
the problem with sending Elphie is that she would chew it up on the way to the house!
the skewer has potential, however -- I'll have to think about that
